Abstract: High-velocity quasar outflows might be essential for regulating
 star formation and facilitating accretion onto the central black hole of 
QSOs. We have analized 1,700 SDSS spectra to study the incidence of 
CIV outflows with v>10,000 km/s but small velocity dispersions, which
present challenges to theoretical models. We also discuss new observations
 that constrain the location and physical nature of these flows
