Abstract: Approximately half of all Seyfert galaxies show significant amounts 
of ionized gas in absorption against the central continuum source.  We will 
present X-ray and UV data for Mrk290 and NGC4593 and discuss the 
characteristics and the correspondence of the intrinsic absorption in these Seyfert galaxies.
